V5 Fungicides

     You may be wandering what the buzz is about when people are talking about a V5 fungicide.  When your corn plant has 5 to 6 leaves develop, the corn plant is at the stage where it is determining the ear size.  With wet and cool conditions this year there is a possibility we could see early disease pressure especially if we get a hail storm.  To maximize your yield, you will want to keep your corn plant healthy by applying a fungicide at this time such as Quadris or Stratego YLD.  Fungicides will mix with all chemicals and is a way to save a trip over your field.  Applying an early fungicide will help prevent stalk rots, gray leaf spot and many other diseases from getting into the corn plants at an early stage.
