On Thursday, July 11th CPI held an employee safety committee meeting where Trooper Nick Plate of the Nebraska State Patrol trained employees about the DOT/ Air brake simulator.
Trooper Plate explained to everyone what to look for on their walk around pre-trip inspection. Also explained what DOT officers look for when they do stops, such as checking lug nuts on the wheels making sure the adjustment on the brakes are proper. Trooper Plate did explain he was able to tell someone when the brakes are out of adjustment.
To make the adjustment we would need to have someone with brake experience show us how to adjust the brakes. We try to cover many areas of safety with our safety committee meetings.
CPI has approximately 400 DOT trucks and pickups on the road and having this training is just another part of our on going training.
