Lack of precipitation in South Central Nebraska has left pastures in moderate and even severe cases of drought. Producers may be contemplating early weaning and additional options for supplementing cows until crop residues are available for grazing.
Nebraska Extension will be hosting a drought management meeting on Thursday, September 1st at the new exhibit hall on the fairgrounds in Bladen. The meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a brief presentation on early weaning and planning for grazing after drought followed by a “question and answer” session. Producers and allied industry personnel are invited to come enjoy a cup of coffee and participate in this discussion around managing the current drought conditions in South Central Nebraska.
