[HASTINGS, NE July 8, 2022]
— Cooperative Producers, Inc. (CPI) has announced that Michael Battin has been hired as Vice President of Agronomy effective July 18, 2022.
Mike has 29 years of experience in agriculture and has held sales, marketing, business development, and leadership roles for Chromatin Inc., Syngenta, Monsanto, and AgReliant Genetics. His latest role was with the J.R. Simplot company where he led the Innvictis Seed Solutions business unit.
“Mike has much experience in both traditional agronomy sales and entrepreneurial agriculture business. With the rapid pace of change in the crop nutrient and crop protection markets as well as supply issues, CPI believes Mike is well suited to help us grow market share and fully utilize our new agronomy facilities,” stated Gary Brandt, CEO.
Mike is a Grant County, Kansas native with a farm and ranch upbringing. He obtained his bachelor of science degree from Fort Hays State University. Mike and his wife, Jamaca, will be residing in Hastings with their son, Maddox.
