Healthcare Being Offered to CPI Member-Owners

Nov 09, 2018

Cooperative Producers, Inc. (CPI), has partnered with Land O’Lakes, Inc., to provide their member-owners in Nebraska with a new healthcare plan option beginning January 1, 2019. CPI expects the Nebraska Cooperative Farmer Member Health Plan to be well-received by their producers during these turbulent political and economic times for those in the agricultural industry.

“Every penny counts for our producers during these times,” said Allan Zumpfe, CEO of CPI. “This is an opportunity for producers to get health coverage for a better price.”

The Minnesota-based Land O’Lakes began developing a group healthcare plan for their members in 2017 and will expand the marketplace to include Nebraska cooperatives’ members in 2019. More than 10 Nebraska cooperatives are participating.

Those who enroll can expect their choice of several ACA-compliant plans with broad network coverage, including the ten Essential Health Benefits and affordable plans compared to what’s available in the current individual market.

“The plan appears to have competitive, favorable rates, and we feel it’s going to be a very positive opportunity for our producers,” said Zumpfe. “CPI is excited that it gives our member-owners options for healthcare coverage, and we’re proud to partner with Land O’Lakes.”

The plan will be administered by Gravie, and enrollment is open now through December 21, 2018 for coverage beginning January 1, 2019. More information, including requirements for enrollment, will be available soon and sent out to qualifying CPI patrons via mail.
