In 2013, CPI had 25 locations that held a formal safety meeting at least monthly with their employees. Thirteen of those locations went all year without a recordable injury at their location. These are great results and are an improvement over the previous year. One of CPI’s goals is to have zero injuries. That is challenging, but not impossible to obtain. However, it is very possible to meet another one of our goals: for every location to have a monthly safety meeting. The employees at the 13 locations that had all their safety meetings and also did not have a recordable injury were eligible to receive a jacket as recognition of their efforts and commitment to safety. The locations were entered into a drawing and Minden was drawn as the winner.
Strong safety results do not just happen. They are a result of effort by each and every employee at a worksite — watching out for each other, not allowing unsafe behaviors to happen, taking pride in housekeeping, taking safety seriously. Thank you, Minden employees, for being one of those locations that shows commitment to safety!
