COVID-19 Precautions

CPI knows that agriculture is a hands-on, face-to-face business.  Your patronage is critical to our success.  With the oncoming of the COVID-19 virus, CPI has implemented the following precautions to make sure we are available to serve you, when you need it most.
  • Employees should:
    • Limit location visits. Use conference calls when necessary.
    • Clean commonly touched surfaces with an anti-bacterial or sanitizing type cleaner as often as possible.
    • Limit interaction with co-workers/customers as much as possible.
    • Avoid shaking hands.
    • Wash your hands (with soap and water for 20 seconds or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol).
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
    • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and throw it away immediately.
    • Avoid close contact with those who are sick.
    • Stay home when you are sick.
    • Not report to work while they are experiencing respiratory symptoms such as fever (100ºF or more), cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills or fatigue.
  • CPI has provided alcohol-based hand sanitizers to all locations.  CPI Premier Stop Convenience Stores have been provided automatic hand sanitizer dispensers.
  • Hand washing signs have been posted in all CPI restrooms.
  • CPI has implemented a “Communicable Diseases Policy” in addition to the above precautions to address any situation that may arise.
CPI will begin implementing the following rules in the attempt to stop COVID-19 from infecting our employees and disrupting our everyday business.
  • CPI drivers (internal or external) will stay in their vehicle while making product deliveries to your location.
  • CPI will work to get all seed and chemical delivered right away.
  • CPI will suspend sales visits to customers and visits from sales vendors.
  • CPI will stop requiring signatures from customers at credit card terminals and on selected receipts.
  • CPI will discourage customer visits at our locations. If a customer must come in, please maintain distance and use the precautions above to protect each other.
  • Customer coffee group gatherings will be suspended for the immediate future.
  • CPI Locations will cease making popcorn until further notice.
  • CPI workers that have the ability and technology to work from home will begin working remotely.
  • CPI will identify critical jobs and begin separating employees to different locations or home to stop the potential spread of COVID-19.
  • CPI will follow the Federal FMLA guidelines (including any recent changes) when decisions are made to compensate employees who are unable to work due to the COVID-19 situation.
  • CPI will send daily emails and hold weekly conference calls to update its employees.
  • CPI may impose quarantines on employees who may have been exposed or have visited high risk areas.
